STYLED BY: @fknjeanius - Vol. 3

Hi Jean! Welcome to AEVA’s Styled By series. Please give us a quick intro about yourself!

Hey! I'm a content creator based in Brisbane and I've been creating content for about 4 years seriously now. My content mostly focuses on fashion and lifestyle and I'd say the best part about my content is my authenticity! I honestly just really enjoy dressing up, getting a lil sweet treat at a cafe with my best friends, and just documenting the little joys in that.

Fashion is something that is so personal to us all. How would you describe your style and how did you discover fashion that feels quintessentially you?

I'd say the best way to describe my style is tomboy with a touch of femme. As a tween I always referred to myself as a die hard tomboy. But as I grew up and reached my later teens, I started to develop an insecurity around my "lack" of femininity. When I finally moved out of home at 18, I felt like I finally had the freedom to express myself and explore those untouched feminine parts of myself. (Finally... My mum wasn't dressing me in a tee and jean shorts and forcing a bowl bob haircut on me). But funnily enough, through the past 6-7 years of trying new styles, experimenting with all sorts of different aesthetics, I've landed safely back into my tomboy roots - just with an added touch of femininity! I do still wear jean shorts and tees by the way, just with cute ballet flats, frilly socks, and a pretty shoulder bag as well!

For those that don’t know, you are a major concert connoisseur! What has been your absolute favourite concert and who is next on your wishlist to see live?

Oh man I have so many favorite concerts... But I should mention this one experience I had in Seoul when I went to my first gig alone. It was for an up and coming Australian - Korean band called 1300. I had seen them in Brisbane for the first time a few months prior, and when I was on holiday in Seoul, I'd found out that they were also in Seoul performing a small intimate gig literally just a 10 minutes' walk away from my hotel. I was suuuuuper nervous about going to a show on my own in a foreign country, especially being a shy girl. And though I was still shy, I stepped out of my comfort zone, enjoyed the intimate show and even got to chat to the band members. It's such a huge personal core memory!! I attached a pic I took with the band as well!! And I'm praying I get to see pH-1 next - I've seen him twice before and I just really miss him so bad!! If you want to get to know pH-1, give his But For Now Leave Me Alone album a lil squizz 😋

From your stories on IG, we can tell you're absolutely a foodie. Do you have any top places you'd recommend in Brisbane or anywhere around the globe?

Oh I'm a huuuuge cafe fanatic - largely because I want to own my own lil cafe one day. But my favorite cafes in Brisbane are Mountain Patisserie, Snug, Coffee Iconic and Riser Bread. I really should be gatekeeping these tbh... Jokes.

What has been your ultimate shopping destination? What would be your dream city to shop in and why?

Vietnam!! Vietnamese brands are soooo cool and on top of that they're so affordable and still high quality. They're so underrated! When I was there last December, specifically in Ho Chi Minh, I felt like I was in shopping heaven. There were little pockets of small business brands everywhere and I found so many unique pieces that felt like they had been on my wishlist for forever, but I didn't realise until I saw them in person... Does that make any sense? Like I saw these crazy pair of black pleated shorts detailed with eyelets and thought, where has this been my entire life??? I bought them immediately haha. I attached a pic! My favorite Viet brands I keep an eye on a lot are The Beuter, The Idiott, Fragile Club, Bunny Hill, Fanci Club and Latui Atelier.

If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I often think about what outfit I'd want to be wearing when I die (if I ever had the choice) and it's gotta be my green Needles HD pants, a black crop top, my distressed brown cropped hoodie from a Viet brand called Gamble Worldwide, my patent loafer Docs and my red Arcteryx beanie. I just feel so quintessentially me in that fit. I've probably reworn that fit 5 times now and it hits the same every single time. Pic attached!

Do you have anything exciting coming up that you’d like to talk about?

It's not something coming up, but rather something that has been happening. But it's my Foot Locker Ambassadorship! I have a few months left of the year long partnership and it's honestly just been so exciting throughout. They're a brand I'm really passionate about because they also give me the same energy, support and passion. Keep an eye out for more of our stuff coming out in the coming months! You can also catch me in all Foot Locker store ads across Australia at the moment - in case you ever miss me you can see me there haha.
